Why track a reading streak?
Reading more is mostly about reading often. A streak turns “I should read more” into a tiny daily win you can see. Ten pages still counts. So does one chapter in a waiting room. The calendar fills with color, the streak grows, and before long picking up your book is simply what you do.
How to use the tracker
- Log today with one tap: a few pages, a chapter or more, or couldn't put it down.
- Fill in past days by tapping them on the calendar. Each tap moves to the next shade, and a fourth tap clears the day.
- Watch your stats: current streak, longest streak, reading days, share of days so far and your best month.
- Print it. Print your filled-in year, or a blank calendar to color in by hand with highlighters.
Tips to keep a streak alive
- Make the minimum tiny. Five pages on a busy night keeps the chain going.
- Stack it on a habit. Read with your morning coffee or right after brushing your teeth.
- Keep a book everywhere. Bag, nightstand, phone app. More tips in our guide on how to read more books.
- Missed a day? Start again tomorrow. Your longest streak is still yours.
Planning a bigger goal? The reading plan calculator turns a yearly book goal into pages a day, and at year's end your streak pairs nicely with your Year in Books card.
Questions people ask
Where is my streak saved?
In your browser on this device. There's no account and nothing is uploaded. If you clear your browser data, your streak is cleared too, so share or print it now and then to keep a copy.
What counts as a reading day?
Whatever you decide. Many readers count any reading at all, including audiobooks. The three shades let you tell a quick five pages from a whole-afternoon binge.
Can I print a blank reading tracker?
Yes. Press “Print a blank tracker” for a clean year-at-a-glance calendar you can color in by hand.
Can I share my streak?
Yes. Download a story or post card, or copy a link that shows your calendar and stats to a reading buddy.
What if I miss a day?
Your current streak starts over, but your longest streak and all your reading days stay. If you haven't logged today yet, your streak still counts from yesterday until the day ends.
